Client: Anthony Michael Design
Scale: 1:25
Proposed development of a perfumery within the Shoreditch area of London. This 1:25 scale model is made to client specification to showcase the designer's 'perfume tunnels' which surround each stair, forming a 'vertical pathway for the user to follow, linking each of the distinctive zones'. Styrene is the primary material used, forming the framework of the building only to ensure attention is drawn towards the 'tunnels'. The staircase shown open is intended as a sectional representation. Finished in white rather than fully rendered allows the model to highlight the spatial aspect of the design and flow of the internal space.
Many models employ new technology such as laser cutting and 3D printing, but there are occasions when models are made entirely by hand through traditional means, such as this example.
